Summary: A striking, all-black glossy ZZ with deep-hued foliage that elevates any indoor space—low-care, stylish, and perfect for modern apartments.
✨ Why You'll Love “Black Raven” ZZ
- Elegant, deep-black leaves add drama and sophistication.
- Ultra low-maintenance: tolerates low light and infrequent watering.
- Perfect for desks, shelves, or minimalist corners.
- P17 pot with 65 cm height makes a bold statement without overpowering spaces.
- Pet-safe choice for cat and dog homes.
🌞 Light & Placement
Thrives in low to medium indirect light, ideal for brightening north-facing rooms or bathrooms without direct sun.
💧 Water & Humidity
Allow the top 3 cm of soil to dry out between waterings. Drought-tolerant and forgiving if slightly neglected. Mist occasionally in dry air.
🪴 Soil & Potting
Plant in a well-draining mix—ours includes perlite and composted bark to prevent waterlogging.
🐾 Toxicity & Safety
Non-toxic to cats and dogs—safe for households with pets.
🌱 Growth & Propagation
Grows slowly upright. Propagate by dividing rhizomes during repotting every 2–3 years for new starter plants.
📆 Seasonal & Special Care
Reduce watering in winter. Wipe leaves occasionally to maintain shine and promote healthy growth.
🐛 Common Issues
Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot. Yellowing leaves usually signal moisture stress—adjust accordingly.
🧬 Botanical Background
Native to eastern Africa, the “Raven” cultivar is admired for its jet-black foliage—a modern twist on the classic ZZ plant.
