The plant spreads horizontally, making it suitable for growing in wide containers or along a surface where it can trail. It is believed to originate from the tropical rainforests of Colombia, where philodendrons naturally thrive in humid conditions. Though its exact species is unconfirmed, it is popular among collectors for its unique leaf shape and growth habit, earning it the name 'El Guapo', meaning 'The Handsome.'
