Also known as the Imperial Taro, Illustris Elephant's Ear (Colocasia esculenta 'Illustris') is a showy foliage plant with a lot of dynamic appeal. Huge leaves are nearly black, and pinstriped with neon green veins.

Each leaf can grow up to three feet long! They feature a slight romantic droop that adds to their appeal.

Feature them as a spectacular focal point in moist soils. They'll grow to create a significant impression as a garden feature.

They do best in soils that stay damp, and can even tolerate a few inches of standing water. Can you imagine how delightful Illustris Elephant Ear would look at the edge of a pond or water feature?

Hardy in the country's warmest Zones, all other avid gardeners can grow these tuberous annuals in seasonal containers. Keep them damp for best results!

Lush and lavish, but wildly easy-care, Illustris helps your landscape put its best foot forward. These plants deliver a tropical flair for residential or commercial properties.

Colocasia is one of many names for the Taro plant. Only a few varieties feature edible tuberous roots. Illustris Elephant's Ear are strictly ornamental, and should not be eaten.

How to Use Illustris Elephant's Ear in the Landscape/h3>

This opulent plant is more versatile than you might think. Grow it in the ground or in containers.

Areas with warm winters can leave them in place all year-round. Each plant will grow to the mature spread listed on the Plant Highlights.

Try several for a unique screen, planting the corms two to three feet apart. Add to a truly fabulous collection of Colocasia, highlighting the showy downturned drama of Illustris front and center.

In cold winter zones, you can also plant them in the ground as a single season annual. By the time the nights grow cooler, you'll have a terrific plant worthy of your neighbors' jealousy.

If you want to overwinter your plant, you can trim back the foliage, then lift the large corm out of the ground. Remove the roots and allow it to dry indoors. Store them in a cool, dark area and replant once all threat of frost has passed.

You can also appreciate their electrifying charm in outdoor containers across the country. Why not spice up your balcony for divaliscious apartment living?

In frosty winters, bring the pot indoors, and trim back for use as a temporary houseplant. Don't overwater your Illustris Elephant's Ear indoors.

Add them to the edge of ponds, or use on your patio or pool deck. Kids absolutely adore the huge leaves, so plant one by their play structure.

#ProPlantTips for Care

Illustris can be grown in either full sun or partial shade. They require consistent water, and frequent fertilization.

Potted Illustris should be planted at the same level it was growing in the pot. Dig down to eight inches and turn the soil over to loosen it.

Use a rich soil during planting, amending with handfuls of compost. Top dress with additional compost and mulch to a depth of three inches.

Use a slow-release organic fertilizer formula according to the label directions. These plants are heavy feeders.

Trim the spent leaves back as needed to tidy up your presentation. We recommend that you wear gloves, as you may be sensitive to the oxalates in the sap.

Enjoy your showy Illustris Elephant's Ear. You'll love all the compliments...order today!

Very thorough and efficient cleaning
Color: Black, Size: L40 Ultra Gen 2
I've been using Roomba vacuums and mops for about fifteen years now, and truly loved them. My Braava mop recently wasn't working well, so I started researching again for the best robot mop. Anytime I've done that before, it was always a Roomba product that seemed to be rated best, but this time it was this Dreame dual vacuum and mop - I hadn't even heard of Dreame. Based on reviews and price, I decided to go for it. I am LOVING this machine! It cleans significantly more thoroughly AND faster than any Roomba I've had. My main floor is probably around 1500sq. ft. My previous Roomba took about 6 hours cleaning it. The Dreame takes just over 2 hours, and results in a noticeably cleaner floor. I have a lady that comes and cleans part of my house once a month, and she thought I must have done an extra intensive clean of my floors for an event. I hadn't told her anything about the new machine, but she noticed a significant difference in the cleanliness of my floors. It's great with picking up dog hair that is everywhere in my house. It has a strong suction for rugs - the door mats used to still have dust that I could shake out after Roomba went over them, not anymore. And I used to have to get down and scrub the area around my dog's food and water dishes because Roomba couldn't mop up that mess. I haven't had to do that in the two months or so since I've had Dreame. I thought it was really strange that it didn't come with the container for the cleaning solution, but thought I'd try it for awhile just with water. So far, I haven't found a reason to pay extra for that container or the solution! Water alone is doing a thorough job! The timer feature works very well, and I appreciate that it sends me a text notice when a particular part needs cleaning or adjustment or whatever. And it includes a link to show where that part is and what to actually do. The communication of the maintenance of the machine has been very good so far. I used to have Roomba run daily, but I have Dreame just running three days a week, and I have cleaner floors! It DOES talk loudly, such as, "Cleaning mop pads." But you can time it to run when the talking won't bother you. Overall, it's a good bit quieter than my Roomba. It gets louder when it's vacuuming rugs, but most of my floor is hard wood or tile, so it's mainly relatively quiet. The two aspects that were better with Roomba were that Roomba fit under my couches to clean (this is too tall), and it was significantly easier to clean hair out of the omnidirectional wheel and brushes of Roomba. I paid $550 for this, and it has been WELL worth the money!

Easiest set up ever
Configuration: Fire TV Stick 4K Plus
I was one of those people who thought “I already have a smart TV, why would I ever need a firestick”. Boy was I wrong. If you’ve used these Smart TV UIs you know they can be notoriously laggy. This is a major upgrade visually and performance wise. Super easy to set up, and this is able to stream from Steam PC!

Before Fire TV, I was an old TV Curmedgeon
Configuration: Fire TV Stick 4K Plus
I have a Samsung Smart TV. I stream with You Tube TV. I watch Sox on the MLB app. I'm worried about getting into heaven because of all my swearing at technology. Samsung made me sign in once or twice a week, a huge task for an 84 year old using a remote clicker. YouTube TV has been nothing but a technology headache. And for an old man, I'm pretty hip with tech. Then there's my chair side JBL speaker which would often not connect. I'd have to restart my TV or re-pair it. The whole ball of wax drove me to up my IPA consumption and made me into a potty mouth. Then I got the Fire TV Stick. It's early on but it does seem to be an absolute game changer. Very user friendly. I got the HDMI USB power module and have also plugged direct into an outlet. Either is good. Right now, I'm using HDMI #3 to power my TV. Had to charge it overnight but all works well. All the technology fussing is over. No more having to sign in. No more problems navigating between live and recorded TV or to MOB and back. I'm very happy. Thank you Amazon. I think St. Pete might now let me in. Not too soon, I hope.
