A wonderful amaranth with a lovely nutmeg color that adds warmth and richness to fall bouquets. Think pumpkin pie! I love Hot Biscuit when paired with white flowers like cosmos, creating a beautiful contrast. At the same time, it has a neutrality that works with many color palettes. Florists love it! Tall and robust, it thrives in heat and is considered drought-tolerant once established. This is a great choice for low-maintenance gardens and beginning gardens as well. For the best cut flowers, pinch back the plant early in the season to encourage side shoots. Very popular as a dry flower. The protein-rich seeds are edible to humans and to birds who flock to it as they ripen in the fall.
