Shark Fin Snake Plant, also known as Whale Fin, is the most dramatic and visually striking Snake Plant available. Instead of the multiple narrow leaves of a standard Snake Plant, it produces a single enormous paddle-shaped leaf that rises majestically from the soil like the fin of a whale breaking the surface. It is one of the most sculptural and architectural plants you can own, and it carries all the legendary toughness of the Snake Plant family in an absolutely unforgettable form.
Good for beginners? Yes. Despite its impressive appearance, Shark Fin is as forgiving and low-maintenance as any Snake Plant. It tolerates low light, drought, and neglect without complaint.
Safe for cats and dogs? Snake Plant is toxic to pets if ingested. Keep out of reach of cats and dogs, or explore our pet-safe plant collection.
Light needs: Adaptable to low, medium, or bright indirect light. It genuinely survives in very low-light spaces. Brighter light encourages faster growth of the impressive single leaf.
Care at a glance: Water only when the soil is completely dry. Overwatering is the only real risk. Feed once or twice in spring and summer. It grows slowly but the single leaf becomes truly massive over time.
