Key Characteristics:
-
Foliage:
- The leaves of Crassula ovata 'Sunset' are thick, fleshy, and oval-shaped, typical of succulent plants. They are primarily bright green, with edges that turn golden-yellow and develop red tips when exposed to sufficient sunlight.
- The coloration is more pronounced under bright light conditions, giving the plant a "sunset" effect, with its mix of green, yellow, and red hues.
- The leaves are glossy and smooth, adding to the plant's overall appeal.
-
Growth Habit:
- This jade plant is a slow-growing, upright succulent that can eventually reach up to 3 to 4 feet (90 to 120 cm) in height, though it typically remains smaller when grown indoors.
- The plant has a woody stem that becomes thicker and more tree-like with age, giving it a bonsai-like appearance.
- The branches are sturdy and support the weight of the succulent leaves, making the plant look robust and well-formed.
-
Flowers:
- In late winter to early spring, Crassula ovata 'Sunset' may produce small, star-shaped white or pale pink flowers. These flowers grow in clusters at the ends of the branches.
- The flowering is not as common indoors, but when it occurs, it adds a delicate touch to the plant's already attractive appearance.
-
Light Requirements:
- This plant thrives in bright, indirect light and can tolerate some direct sunlight. The more sunlight it receives, the more intense the yellow and red colors become.
- In low light conditions, the plant may lose some of its vibrant coloration and become more green, and growth may slow.

A Sweet, Classic Read – Perfect for Bedtime!
Format: Hardcover
I got Daddies for my son’s birthday, and it’s quickly become a favorite in our home! We read it multiple times a day – I’ve practically got it memorized! The simple, classic illustrations are wonderful for little ones’ growing minds, and they bring such a calm, cozy vibe, making this book especially great for winding down before bed. Little Golden Books are a staple in our family, and Daddies fits right in. Highly recommend for any parent looking to add a timeless, heartfelt story to their child’s collection!

Great illustrations. Great story.
Format: Hardcover
My son and daughter (who are 2 and 4 years old) love this book. They seem to gravitate to all the Little Golden Books we have. It's one that I don't mind reading over and over again. The pictures have an old fashioned look to them, but I like them, especially the one at the end showing them all eating dinner together. As others have noted, there aren't really any women in the book, but it is about Daddies, and applies well to our family situation. The main point is that daddy loves them even though he is away at work all day, so it might not be the best choice for stay-at-home Dads. Made a great Father's Day present for us.

This book brings back so many sweet memories!
Format: Hardcover
When my son was a toddler, I read to him every night. This book was one of the stories in a large book of children's stories. My son loved Daddies so much, he wanted me to read it over and over and over again until he had it memorized and he would "read" it himself. Now my son will be 46 in March and I bought it as a surprise for his birthday. I think he will enjoy it and it will make him laugh. It is a great book. Now one of my daughters wants me to buy a copy for one of my great-grandsons!!!
