Air-purifying, forgiving, and absolutely gorgeous - it's the perfect plant for beginners and collectors alike.
Botanical Information
Botanical Name: Scindapsus pictus 'Argyraeus'
Common Names: Satin Pothos, Silver Pothos, Silk Pothos
Plant Family: Araceae
Origin: Native to Southeast Asia
Special Feature: Silvery variegation on heart-shaped leaves with satin-like shimmer
Growth Habit: Fast-growing trailing vine, can grow 3+ feet per year
Care Instructions
💧 Water: When top inch of soil is dry (every 7-10 days)
☀️ Light: Low to bright indirect light (extremely adaptable)
🌡️ Temperature: 60-85°F
💨 Humidity: Average household humidity is fine
🌱 Fertilizer: Feed monthly during spring and summer
🐾 Pet-Friendly: Toxic to cats and dogs if ingested
✨ Air Purifying: Removes toxins and improves air quality
Perfect Placement
Hanging baskets, shelves, plant stands, or trailing from bookcases. Its silvery leaves catch the light beautifully and look stunning cascading down from any height!
💡 Pro Tip: The more light your Satin Pothos gets (indirect only!), the more pronounced that gorgeous silver variegation becomes. But it'll still thrive in low light - just with slightly less shimmer!
