Literature is extra fun when it's spooky! This illustrated compendium of 25 of the spookiest and most nefarious monsters from classic literature—from Dracula to the Jabberwocky—includes a playful retelling of each monster's story accompanied by full-color illustration and sidebars about its literary origins, including authorship and genre. For ages 8-12.

Meet the monsters in this who’s who of the baddest of the bad!

Like those supernatural beasts everyone knows and fears—the bloodsucking vampire, Count Dracula, and that eight-foot-tall mash-up of corpses, Frankenstein’s Monster. Or that scariest of mummies, Cheops, who scientists revived after 4,700 years—big mistake! Or more horrifying yet, the Horla, an invisible, havoc-wreaking creature that herds humans like cattle and feeds of their souls.

Drawn from the pages of classic books and tales as old as time, this frightfully exciting collection features 25 of the creepiest creatures ever imagined, from witches and werewolves to dragons and ghosts. Every monster is brought to life in a full-size full-color portrait that captures the essence of the beast, and in lively text that recounts the monster’s spine-tingling story. With sidebars that explore the history and the genre of each sourcebook, The Big Book of Monsters is an exciting introduction to literature and language arts.

If you love these characters and the lore, you'll love this book!
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
I've bought every book connected to FFXV that I could find hoping for one that had a lot of focus on the story and characters and they've all been pretty disappointing. This one is exactly what I've always wanted. There are multiple character biographies all through the book, every in-game chapter has a chapter in the book detailing what happened in it with screenshots, lots of pages of concept are that includes art of the characters and not just the monsters like other FFXV books, soundtrack listings, pages about all the DLC, appendices that discuss the gods and a timeline. There are extensive interviews with the staff in the back. There is also a large section on Comrades that talks about upgrading weapons and obtaining sigils if you're wanting that. If you only get one book about FFXV, get this one. This book is a hardcover.

A Lovely Art Book for those Who Love Pixel Art from RPGs
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
Growing up playing NES & SNES games, I love pixel/sprite art. Featuring pixel art from Final Fantasy to Final Fantasy VI, this book has various types of pixel art including sprite sheets of different poses & walk cycles, backgrounds, monsters, and pixels of characters if they were done in 2018. There’s even pixel art from Final Fantasy VII to Final Fantasy XV. My ONLY complaint is that even though the book I got came in plastic wrap, somehow a couple of pages have creases. But since the creases are light, I’m gonna let that slide. All in all, this is a must have for those who love the Final Fantasy games from the NES and/or SNES era or those who love pixel art in general.

STELLAR
Format: Hardcover
Highest quality print. I ordered this book during the early part of the 2020 pandemic. When it arrived I was so happy. The images were comforting during a time of great stress in our world. It reminded me that Final Fantasy has been a tremendous part of my life. I'm grateful for the effort put into this book, which was in part a preview of the Pixel Remasters that came later. Brilliant.
