This carnivorous plant potting mix is made from a rigorously selected blend of sphagnum peat moss, perlite, coir fiber, and horticultural charcoal. This combination helps recreate an acidic, nutrient-poor, and perfectly balanced environment, essential conditions for the proper development of carnivorous species.
Sphagnum peat moss ensures stable water retention, while perlite and coir fiber improve the substrate's structure and aeration. The addition of horticultural charcoal helps maintain a healthy environment by limiting microbial imbalances. Together, these elements promote effective rooting while reducing the risks associated with excess moisture and mineral accumulation.
Recommended Use
- Repotting carnivorous plants in pots or specialized containers
- Cultivation indoors, in a greenhouse, or outdoors depending on the species
- Maintaining a moist substrate with low-mineralized water
- Possible adaptation with added sphagnum for tropical species
Affected Plants
- Venus flytrap (Dionaea)
- Sarracenia
- Nepenthes
- Drosera
- Other terrestrial and epiphytic carnivorous plants
