A Royal Touch of Pink and Green for Your Home
Hoya Carnosa 'Krimson Queen' | Fast EU shipping | Grown with love in the EU | Pet-safe
Summary: With its creamy-white variegated leaves edged in pink and green, the Krimson Queen is a regal statement plant that thrives indoors and rewards you with trailing vines. Perfect for German apartments and European homes alike.
✨ Why You'll Love the Hoya Carnosa 'Krimson Queen'
- Striking variegation: glossy green leaves with creamy margins and occasional pink blush.
- Compact size (P9 H10) – perfect for windowsills, desks, or small spaces.
- Slow-growing but rewarding with cascading vines over time.
- Low-maintenance, drought-tolerant, and pet-safe.
🌞 Light & Placement
Loves bright, indirect light to maintain its colorful variegation. A south- or west-facing window with filtered sun is ideal. Too little light may fade its pink tones.
💧 Water & Humidity
Allow the soil to dry almost completely before watering. Overwatering is the main enemy. Average European indoor humidity is sufficient, but it will enjoy occasional misting in drier homes.
🪴 Soil & Potting
Prefers a well-draining mix, such as orchid bark blended with peat-free soil and perlite. Repot only when rootbound, as Hoyas enjoy snug pots.
🐾 Toxicity & Safety
Completely pet-safe for cats and dogs—perfect for animal-loving households in Germany and across Europe.
🌱 Growth & Propagation
Slow to moderate grower. Can be propagated easily from stem cuttings in water or soil. With time, expect long, cascading vines that look beautiful in hanging planters.
📆 Seasonal & Special Care
During spring and summer, fertilise monthly with a balanced houseplant fertiliser. In winter, reduce watering and allow the plant to rest.
🐛 Common Issues
Watch for mealybugs and spider mites in dry indoor air. Yellowing leaves usually indicate overwatering. Leggy growth suggests insufficient light.
🧬 Botanical Background
The Hoya Carnosa 'Krimson Queen' is a variegated cultivar of the beloved wax plant, native to Southeast Asia and prized in Europe for its resilience and ornamental leaves. It belongs to the Apocynaceae family and has been a houseplant favourite for decades.
