Philodendron 'Moonshine' in Self-Watering Planter
Philodendron 'Moonshine' is a striking tropical plant known for its bright yellow-green foliage and compact, upright growth. Unlike many philodendrons, it is a self-heading plant rather than a climber, making it perfect for tabletops and indoor décor.
This plant comes in a self-watering planter, ensuring consistent moisture and reducing the risk of overwatering or underwatering—ideal for beginners and busy plant owners.
Native to Brazil, this variety typically grows up to 50 cm tall. As it matures, its foliage becomes more textured and ribbed, giving it a fuller and more structured appearance over time.
Environment
Light: Prefers medium to bright indirect light. Requires slightly more light than other philodendrons to maintain its compact shape.
Water: The self-watering pot maintains steady moisture. Refill the reservoir as needed and avoid excess water.
Humidity: Thrives in normal indoor humidity. Mist occasionally for healthier growth.
Temperature: Prefers warm, tropical conditions.
Soil: Well-draining potting mix with good organic content.
Fertilizer: Use slow-release fertilizer or a balanced liquid fertilizer (20-20-20) at half strength during the growing season.
Pests: May attract aphids and mealybugs—inspect regularly.
Placement
Ideal for indoor spaces such as living rooms, offices, and bedrooms. Its upright and compact growth makes it perfect for desks, shelves, and corners. Place in a bright spot with indirect sunlight for best results.
Also helps improve indoor air quality by removing toxins like formaldehyde, benzene, and ammonia.
Caution
Parts of the plant are toxic if ingested. Keep away from pets and children, as philodendrons are harmful to dogs and cats.
