New leaves arrive in a blaze of neon yellow. Philodendron 'Painted Lady' is a climbing Philodendron hybrid that produces large, heart-shaped leaves in vivid chartreuse-yellow when new, gradually maturing to a deeper green speckled with lighter markings. The petioles are distinctively mottled in pink and red, adding a second layer of colour. It is a vigorous climber that responds well to a moss pole, producing larger, more colourful leaves as it gains height. At any given time the plant carries leaves at several colour stages, creating a warm, gradient display.
Origins
Philodendron 'Painted Lady' is a cultivated hybrid, thought to involve Philodendron erubescens. Philodendrons as a genus are native to the tropical Americas, where they grow as hemiepiphytes in forest habitats.
