Looking for a beautiful and unique house plant? Look no further than the Calathea orbifolia, or Prayer Plant, from The Australian Plant Shop. Calatheas are popular house plants because of their variegated leaves and vivid colours. The Calathea orbifolia is especially striking, with dark green leaves striped with lighter green or white. Like other members of the marantaceae family, Calathea raises their leaves in the morning and lowers them at night, giving them the common name, the “prayer plant”. This fascinating trait is caused by changes in the amount of light during the day. The Calathea orbifolia is a relatively easy plant to care for, and will thrive in indirect sunlight and high humidity. Be sure to water regularly so the soil stays moist but not soggy. Add a touch of beauty and elegance to your home with a Calathea orbifolia from The Australian Plant Shop today!
