Origin
The Philodendron 'Imperial Green' originates from the rainforests of South America. It is in this humid, warm environment that this tropical plant thrives best. Due to their origin, the Philodendron 'Imperial Green' is accustomed to a shadowy undergrowth in the forest and can grow well in a less lit environment in the home.
Characteristics
The Philodendron 'Imperial Green' is known for its large, shiny, dark green leaves. The leaves are heart-shaped and can grow up to 36 centimeters long. Moreover, the plant forms a vibrant tropical addition to the interior because of its lush leaves. The trunk of the Philodendron 'Imperial Green' is short and compact, contributing to its robust appearance.
Care
Despite its tropical origin, the Philodendron 'Imperial Green' requires a basic level of care to thrive indoors. The Philodendron prefers a warm temperature between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius. It's important to water the plant regularly, but it's also key that the soil gets a chance to dry out a bit between watering. As for location, the Philodendron does well in a spot with indirect light, though it can also survive in places with less light. It is recommended to repot the plant annually to promote healthy growth.
