Tower Herbicide is a versatile, broad-spectrum preemergent herbicide primarily used in turfgrass and landscape areas like tees, fairways, and roughs on golf courses. Its active ingredient, dimethenamid-p (DMTA-p), effectively prevents the germination of various challenging weeds, including grasses, sedges, and small-seeded broadleaf species, for over 60 days. Particularly effective on warm-season turfgrasses, Tower controls weeds by hindering shoot formation and cellular growth. It can be mixed with other herbicides, such as Pendulum AquaCap and Finale, for enhanced weed control. However, it should not be used on putting greens or where Poa annua is prevalent. Precautions include delaying overseeding and sprigging after its application and avoiding use on newly overseeded turf in early spring to prevent discoloration and thinning.
- Broad-Spectrum Control: Effectively manages a variety of annual grasses, sedges, and small-seeded broadleaf weeds, including challenging species like goosegrass, doveweed, and yellow nutsedge.
- Long-Lasting Effect: Provides weed control for 60 days or longer, ensuring extended protection of turfgrass areas.
- Versatile Mixing Capabilities: Can be easily tank-mixed with other preemergent and postemergent herbicides, such as Pendulum AquaCap herbicide and Finale herbicide, for comprehensive weed management.
- Cost-Effective: Offers an economical solution for controlling troublesome weeds through its liquid preemergent application.
- Specific Usage Areas: Suitable for use on tees, fairways, roughs, and other amenity turfgrass areas, making it ideal for golf courses and similar landscapes.
- Safe Mixing Practices: BASF recommends conducting a test on a small portion of turf when mixing with other herbicides to ensure no damage occurs.
