Sedum Japonicum 'Tokyo Sun' (Tokyo Sun Stonecrop) Care
Watering
The Sedum Japonicum 'Tokyo Sun' is a drought-tolerant plant and can survive on very little water. Water your plant only when the soil is completely dry to the touch. Overwatering can lead to root rot and cause damage to the plant.
Light
This plant requires bright, direct sunlight to maintain its yellow color. Place it in a spot where it can receive at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Inadequate light may cause the plant to turn green, and too much direct sun can scorch the leaves.
Temperature
Sedum Japonicum 'Tokyo Sun' is a hardy plant that can tolerate a wide range of temperatures. It prefers temperatures between 60-80°F (15-26°C) but can survive in higher temperatures. In cold climates, bring the plant indoors during the winter months to protect it from frost.
Soil Mix
Use well-draining soil mix that is specifically designed for succulent plants. You can create a soil mix by combining perlite, sand, and potting soil in equal parts.
Humidity
Sedum Japonicum 'Tokyo Sun' doesn't require high levels of humidity, and it can grow in dry conditions. However, if you live in a dry climate, you can mist the plant occasionally to increase humidity levels.
Fertilizer
Fertilize your plant with a balanced fertilizer once a month during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid fertilizing during the winter months when the plant is dormant.
