Easy-Growing, Liriope Plants, Gorgeous Blooms all summer and fall
Liriope muscari 'Super Blue', commonly known as Lilyturf, is a clump-forming perennial with grass-like foliage. It features deep green leaves that grow in dense tufts and can reach a height of around 10-15 inches. This variety produces spikes of vibrant, violet-blue flowers during the late summer to early fall. The flower spikes can rise above the foliage, adding a pop of color to garden beds or borders.
Lilyturf is a low-maintenance plant that spreads gradually through rhizomes. It forms dense clumps and can be used as ground cover in shaded areas. It is also deer-resistant, making it a good choice for gardens where deer may be a problem.
Liriope muscari 'Super Blue' thrives in partial to full shade and can tolerate a range of soil conditions, including clay and sandy soils. Once established, it has good drought tolerance. It benefits from regular watering during dry periods and a layer of mulch to help conserve moisture.
Super Blue is often used as a ground cover, edging plant, or in mass plantings. It provides a lush, green backdrop and adds color and texture to garden beds, borders, or containers.
