Comes with this description: Since the early 1800s, County and State Fairs have flourished in rural America, showcasing the finest in regional produce, crafts, and monsters. This fine poster from 1886 shows all of these themes collected around a personification of the fertility of the land. Indiana’s great State Fairs featured the region’s embrace of both industry and agriculture, while also including the usual games for children, livestock contests, and displays of terrifying prehistoric creatures.
