Sansevieria ‘Whale Fin’ ‘Victoria’ (also known as Dracaena masoniana) is a striking, sculptural houseplant grown for its broad, paddle-shaped leaf with beautifully marbled green patterning. This cultivar, ‘Victoria’, is especially sought after for its refined markings and elegant form.
Often grown as a single upright leaf, the Whale Fin makes a bold statement despite its simplicity. Its clean, architectural shape works perfectly in modern interiors, adding height, structure and a calm, considered feel to a space.
Like other Sansevieria, it is exceptionally low maintenance and well suited to a wide range of homes. It will tolerate lower light conditions, but grows best in bright, indirect light. Allow the compost to dry out completely between waterings, as this plant prefers to be kept on the drier side.
Slow growing and long-lived, Whale Fin ‘Victoria’ is a true collector’s plant — valued for its form as much as its resilience.
Why we love it
- Bold single “whale fin” leaf with beautiful natural markings
- Highly architectural and design-led
- Extremely low maintenance and drought tolerant
- A compact but impactful statement plant
Plant care
- Light: Low to bright indirect light (best in brighter conditions)
- Water: Water thoroughly, then allow soil to dry out completely before watering again
- Temperature: Keep above 10–12°C
- Feeding: Occasionally during spring and summer
Please note: Minor nicks, scars or markings on the leaf are common with this plant. These occur naturally during growth and handling, and do not affect the health or longevity of the plant.
Nursery Pot Size: 12cm
Height: Approx. 40cm
