Caring for Your Philodendron Gigas: Essential Tips for Success
- Light Needs: Thrives in bright, indirect light but is adaptable to lower light conditions.
- Watering: Let the top 1-2 inches of soil dry out between waterings. Be sure to avoid overwatering to keep the roots healthy.

- Protecting Your Plant: Ensure proper airflow and avoid damp, stagnant conditions that promote fungal diseases.
Aerial Roots: Nature’s Hidden Gem
- Aerial Roots Explained: Philodendrons develop aerial roots that allow them to gather moisture and nutrients from the environment.
- Support Tips: Encourage upward growth by providing a moss pole or staking to help it thrive vertically.
Soil and Potting Mix Secrets: The Perfect Environment
- Soil Recommendations: A mix that drains well, such as aroids or cactus potting soil, works best.
- Potting Tips: Ensure the pot has adequate drainage to prevent root rot, and consider adding perlite or orchid bark to increase aeration.
