3 Gallon Pygmy Date Palm
Phoenix roebelenii, known as the Pygmy Date Palm, is one of the most elegant and versatile palms you can grow. Compact, slow-growing, and beautifully symmetrical, it adds tropical sophistication to both indoor and outdoor spaces. With its feathery fronds and graceful arching shape, this variety brings an instant resort feel to patios, entryways, and sunlit corners.
Perfect for Arizona’s warm climate, the Pygmy Date Palm is hardy yet refined — thriving in containers, garden beds, or as a centerpiece in tropical landscapes. Its easy-going nature and manageable size make it ideal for homeowners who want all the beauty of a palm without the upkeep of larger varieties.
🌱 Care Tips for Success
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light indoors or full sun to partial shade outdoors.
Water: Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy. Water deeply and allow the top few inches of soil to dry between waterings.
Humidity: Tolerates average household humidity but thrives with a light misting every few days.
Fertilizer: Feed monthly during the growing season with Fox Farms Grow Big or Tiger Bloom to promote lush fronds and strong roots.
Soil: Use Fox Farms Ocean Forest or a well-draining palm-specific mix. Add perlite for aeration in pots.
Maintenance: Remove lower yellowing fronds as new growth appears. Clean leaves occasionally to maintain their sheen.
