Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take for jasmine seeds to germinate?
Star Jasmine seeds typically germinate in 14–30 days when kept at 65–75°F (18–24°C). Keep the soil consistently moist and provide indirect light during germination.
Can I grow jasmine indoors?
Yes! Trachelospermum jasminoides grows beautifully indoors in a bright, sunny spot. When grown indoors, it can bloom continuously throughout the year, filling your home with fragrance.
How fast does Star Jasmine grow?
Star Jasmine is a moderate to fast grower, adding 3–6 feet per year under ideal conditions. With a trellis or support structure, it can reach up to 20 feet over time.
Does jasmine need a lot of sun?
It thrives in full sun (6+ hours daily) for the most abundant blooms. It can tolerate partial shade, but flowering may be reduced. Indoors, place near a south- or west-facing window.
Is Star Jasmine suitable for beginners?
Absolutely — it's one of the easiest fragrant climbers to grow. It adapts to most soil types, tolerates a range of light conditions, and is relatively drought-tolerant once established.
