Three shades of green in a camouflage pattern that looks almost painted on. Aglaonema pictum 'Tricolor' produces oval, upright leaves marked in irregular patches of dark green, mid-green, and silvery pale green that blend together like military camouflage. It is a slow, compact grower that stays manageable and demands a bit more care than the average Chinese Evergreen, preferring higher humidity and consistent warmth.
Origins
Native to the volcanic slopes of Sumatra at elevations between 1,000 and 2,000 metres, Aglaonema pictum grows in cool, humid, montane forest understorey. The tricolour patterning varies between populations from different elevations.
Soil and Substrate
Jungle Mix is a peat-free potting mix designed for all-around use with Aglaonema. The light and airy mix allows for maximum oxygen exchange whilst retaining a lot of moisture, ensuring a healthy root system whilst avoiding rot.
