Anthurium Veitchii - Majestic, Regal, and Striking
Experience the bold tropical allure of this kingly (that's why they call it the King Anthurium) plant, designed to transform your space into a refined, energising retreat. Its sculptural leaves evoke an air of luxury that brings both drama and serenity to modern interiors.
Plant Personality & Aesthetic Appeal
Anthurium Veitchii's leaves boast a rich, glossy green finish with pronounced ridges and intricate veining. This creates a naturally dramatic and eye-catching texture. The large, paddle-like foliage exudes tropical opulence suited to both contemporary and boho decors. Display this statement plant on a prominent shelf, a sleek plant stand, or in an elegant hanging basket to instantly accentuate your refined space.
Growth Behaviour & Size Potential
The tropical Anthurium Veitchii can grow up to 180 cm! That is, if you care for it correctly. Do note that this plant is a slow grower. Expect your Anthurium Veitchii to look how it does for a while - not that anyone's complaining. The plant is striking enough as is! The Anthurium Veitchii also loves well-draining soil - give it something that helps its roots grow. A generously sized pot with excellent drainage will also encourage robust root growth.
Light Requirements & Adaptability
Give your plant lots of bright but indirect light. Shield it away from direct sunlight. A good sign that your plant is not getting enough light is if it's getting too leggy or its leaves are weak. Yes, it may tolerate lower light conditions, but you might risk the leaves looking rather duller than they normally would. Keep that in mind if you decide to move your plant to a different room.
Care Level & Maintenance Tips
Anthurium Veitchii requires moderate watering. If you're wondering when the right time to water might be, just check the top inch of its soil. If it's feeling dry, give it a drink! A well-draining and slightly acidic potting mix is preferred if you have it. If you want to keep your Anthurium Veitchii looking neat and pristine, regularly remove any leaves that may have been damaged. Beginners might need to watch over their Anthurium Veitchii rather carefully, but seasoned gardeners would get acquainted with their plant rather easily.
Breathe Easy with the Anthurium Veitchii
The cousin of the Anthurium Veitchii, the Flamingo Lily, was named in NASA's Clean Air Study as an excellent plant for helping remove toxins like xylene, toluene, and ammonia. Regardless of that little inclusion, the Anthurium Veitchii may help improve your indoor air quality by simply existing - that's what all plants do! On top of providing us with clean air, the large leaves of the Anthurium Veitchii may also trap dust particles. That means you can breathe easier when this plant is around! Does that mean you should consider placing one in your bedroom? We think so!
