Brilliant, vigorous, and beautifully architectural, Aeonium ‘Jack Catlin’ is a standout succulent for dry gardens and container plantings. Introduced by Huntington Botanical Gardens and named for breeder John “Jack” Catlin, this exceptional aeonium forms striking rosettes of red and green foliage that bring rich color and sculptural texture to the landscape.
Also known as Jack Catlin Aeonium, this groundcovering succulent is especially useful in water-wise gardens, coastal plantings, rock gardens, patio pots, and succulent combinations. Its higher tolerance for heat and dry conditions makes it a strong performer where bold foliage needs to carry the show. The colorful rosettes pair beautifully with blue chalk sticks, sedums, agaves, echeverias, gravel mulch, and orange or yellow blooms.
Plant Aeonium ‘Jack Catlin’ in full sun to part shade with sharply drained soil. Water occasionally during active growth and protect from hard freezes. Easy, colorful, and wonderfully textural, it is a handsome choice for gardeners who love foliage with drama. Explore more sculptural favorites in our Aeonium collection.
