About Activated Horticultural Charcoal:
Activated Horticultural Charcoal, also known as activated carbon, is a purifying soil amendment that serves as a natural protector against excess water due to its porous nature. By efficiently absorbing excess water and releasing it slowly, it helps maintain the ideal moisture levels in the potting mix, preventing root rot and ensuring a healthy root system.
One of the other remarkable benefits of charcoal is its ability to act as a natural filter. It purifies the potting mix by absorbing impurities and organic materials such as metals, harmful chemicals, and mold, creating a clean environment for your plants. This ensures a balanced pH level, which is crucial for proper nutrient absorption.
Activated charcoal also works great in aquarium filtration and helps with odour prevention in terrariums, aquariums, and plants. By incorporating activated charcoal into your potting mix, you're creating an enriching environment that promotes plant growth and longevity for your indoor jungle.
Birdy's Plants naturally produces this product for houseplants, so expect a pine needle or two.
