Planting Instructions

 

New Seeding
Prepare the soil by tilling to a depth of 4-6 inches. Conduct a soil test to be sure your soil has the proper nutrients it needs for a healthy lawn. Apply fertilizer and lime at the recommended rates. If you are unable to conduct a soil test, apply lime and a complete lawn fertilizer according to the recommended rates on the packages. Work lime and fertilizer evenly into the soil, then rake the soil surface smooth to give the seed an ideal bed in which to establish healthy roots. Sow the grass seed by evenly spreading according to the recommended seeding rates. Rake, harrow, or otherwise work the seed into the soil 1/4’” to 1/2” deep. Keep the area well watered until the seed germinate and the seedlings have grown sufficiently to establish a lawn, then water as needed.

Overseeding or Re-Seeding
Before overseeding, it is important to prepare the soil. Conduct a soil test to be sure your lawn has the proper balance of nutrients. Fertilize and lime if needed. Mow or clip the existing grass as closely as possible. Remove clippings and rake, harrow lightly, or aerate the soil where there is existing lawn. This will allow the new seed to make contact with the soil. Sow the seed and gently rake to cover. Keep the lawn moist until seedlings are established, then water as needed.

Undesirable Lawns
Rid your lawn of undesirable grasses following the steps below so that you can establish a desirable lawn:

  • During any growing season, spray the established undesirable turf with a non-selective herbicide labeled for lawn use. Follow the directions on the label.
  • After the lawn turns brown, continue with your seeding program as outlined above. Be sure to start with a soil test or a complete lawn fertilizer.

Improving Bare Spots
Mow your lawn closely, then remove leaves, dead grass, etc. Rake, harrow lightly, or aerate the bare spots to prepare the seedbed. Conduct a soil test to be sure the soil has the proper balance of nutrients. Fertilize and lime if needed.

You will not regret buying this blanket!

I was actually looking for a cotton blanket to add to my bed for fall and winter. Then I came across THIS one. It happens to be the exact shade of (“seaglass” or teal or aqua or whatever you choose to call it) blue green that I am currently redoing my bedroom in. Update: After owning this blanket for, like, a while, I still love it. Shockingly it washes up beautifully! A word of advice. Fabric softener is a big no no. It gets the fur gummy and feeling like unwashed hair after a month. I imagine. I’ve personally never gone with unwashed hair for more than a day or two. It is at its fluffy and soft best when you use one of those new Downey rinses instead. That seems to remove all residue and it comes out feeling even better than brand new. A word of warning. Do not picnic on this blanket. The fur will encase and preserve your crumbs better than Tupperware. You may find a lost treasure that you don’t actually want in there. Best used for sleeping only.

This blanket is wonderful. I'm not sure if it will last or wash well but it's amazing right now. I was looking for something that had a sort of aqua color that would go with my new sheets that are aqua but still blend with my comforter which has more blue tones in it. Others said theirs was shedding. I took mine out of the bag and shook and no shedding. I did have trouble getting it out of the plastic and cut a few pieces with the scissors but once I got it started I just pulled to rip the plastic. I took one pic so you could see the back. I would say it's like a fuzzy microfiber and the color is identical. It's just te right thickness. I love the design. It's warm to lay under but also has a warm look. It was a good value at just under $30. I know some people said it did not wash well but I'll be super careful when I wash it and even though it says hang dry I might tumble on a very low or cool dryer so that it does not mat. If it's a disaster I'll come back to report but prob wont wash it for a few months. Oh and no weird smells out of the bag so that was a plus for me since I have chemical sensitivities.
