🌱 Orchid Nerd Cymbidium Orchid Potting Mix – 1 Cubic Foot Box
Specially blended for Cymbidium orchids, this Orchid Nerd mix provides the ideal balance of drainage and moisture retention needed by these vigorous, sympodial growers. Featuring a base of fir bark and sponge rock, along with proprietary additives developed by Waldor Orchids, it’s designed to support robust root growth and long-lasting flowering.
Also available in a 2 Cubic Foot Box for large collections and serious growers.
🌿 Premium Ingredients Include:
- Medium and fine-grade fir bark – provides sturdy support and moderate water retention for Cymbidium roots
- Sponge rock – enhances aeration and drainage to reduce the risk of root rot
- Proprietary ingredients – promote strong root systems, nutrient absorption, and seasonal growth cycles
🌟 Potting Tip: When potting Cymbidiums, we recommend using 1–2 inches of straight medium fir bark in the bottom of the pot for improved drainage and root stability.
✅ Ideal For:
- Cymbidium orchids grown in pots or decorative planters
- Outdoor and indoor growing environments
- Cooler-growing, terrestrial-type orchids needing structure and airflow
- Growers who want a premium blend tailored for big, bold orchid plants
📦 Size: 1 Cubic Foot – great for maintaining a small to medium Cymbidium collection
🔗 Recommended Pairings
- Orchid Potting Stick – helpful when potting in deep containers
-
Orchid Nerd Green Balls – deal for staking, training, and supporting orchid spikes, with a green color that blends naturally into foliage.
💡 Tips for Best Results
Re-pot orchids every 12–18 months or when potting mix starts to break down. Always re-pot after blooming to reduce stress on the plant.
