A silvery glow for your urban jungle
Scindapsus treubii 'Moonlight' | Fast EU shipping | Grown with love in the EU | Not pet-safe
Summary: With its rare, silvery-green leaves that shimmer like moonlight, this Scindapsus adds a touch of elegance to any room. A resilient climbing and trailing plant, perfect for German apartments and European homes.
✨ Why You'll Love the Scindapsus treubii 'Moonlight'
- Striking silver foliage that looks almost metallic under natural light
- Thrives as both a climbing or trailing houseplant
- Easy-care nature makes it beginner-friendly
- Perfect for adding contrast to darker green collections
- Medium size: P12, approx. 30 cm tall — ready to shine in your home
🌞 Light & Placement
Place your 'Moonlight' in bright, indirect light to maintain its luminous silver tones. It tolerates lower light, but the leaves may lose some of their shimmer. Ideal for living rooms, offices, and bedrooms in German apartments with filtered light.
💧 Water & Humidity
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. This Scindapsus prefers moderate humidity but adapts well to typical European indoor climates. Mist occasionally or group with other plants for extra lushness.
🪴 Soil & Potting
Use a well-draining, airy aroid mix with perlite or orchid bark. Repot every 1–2 years in spring when roots start circling the pot.
🐾 Toxicity & Safety
Not pet-safe. Keep away from curious cats and dogs, as ingestion can cause irritation.
🌱 Growth & Propagation
Expect steady growth with proper care. Train it to climb a moss pole for larger, more dramatic leaves, or let it cascade gracefully from a shelf. Propagation is simple: take a stem cutting with at least one node and root it in water or soil.
📆 Seasonal & Special Care
During spring and summer, feed monthly with a balanced liquid fertilizer. In autumn and winter, reduce watering and allow the plant to rest. Avoid cold drafts in winter, especially in European homes with older windows.
🐛 Common Issues
- Yellowing leaves → usually from overwatering
- Pale foliage → needs more light
- Brown leaf edges → dry air; increase humidity
🧬 Botanical Background
Scindapsus treubii 'Moonlight' belongs to the Araceae family and is native to Southeast Asia. Its rare silver-toned leaves have made it a highly sought-after collector’s plant, now grown sustainably in the EU for easier access to European plant lovers.
