Wildlife Food Plot Seed for Deer, Turkey, Ducks & Game Birds
WGF Sorghum Food Plot Seed is a fast-growing, warm-season annual grain sorghum specifically selected for wildlife food plots, upland bird habitat, and seasonal forage production. Commonly known as Wild Game Food (WGF) Sorghum or Milo, this early-maturing sorghum variety produces abundant grain heads that attract deer, wild turkey, quail, pheasants, doves, ducks, and other game birds throughout the fall and winter months.
This bird-resistant sorghum variety was developed to help reduce seed loss from migrating blackbirds during late summer, allowing the grain heads to remain available deeper into hunting season. As the seed heads mature and weather naturally in the field, tannin levels gradually decline, improving palatability and increasing wildlife attraction over time.
WGF Sorghum is widely used in wildlife management programs, hunting properties, conservation plantings, and supplemental feeding plots because of its dependable grain production, drought tolerance, and ability to provide both food and cover for wildlife species. Mature plants typically reach approximately 26 to 36 inches tall, depending on growing conditions and soil fertility.

Establishment & Management Tips
For best performance, plant WGF Sorghum in well-prepared soil with adequate fertility and moisture. Sorghum performs best in full sun and warm soil temperatures. Proper weed control during establishment helps maximize seed head production and stand density.
WGF Sorghum responds well to balanced fertilizer applications and can continue producing tillers and additional grain heads under favorable moisture conditions. Once mature, the standing grain continues feeding wildlife for an extended period while also providing valuable cover and habitat structure.
