Bring the striking beauty of the desert indoors with the Agave victoriae-reginae, often called the Queen Victoria Agave. This compact and visually stunning succulent is an ideal choice for any houseplant enthusiast looking for a low-maintenance yet captivating addition to their home. Its mature size, typically reaching a modest 12-18 inches in diameter, makes it perfectly suited for various indoor settings—from a bright windowsill to a prominent spot on a side table or as an eye-catching desk companion.
The Queen Victoria Agave flourishes in bright, direct to indirect sunlight, making it an excellent fit for sun-drenched rooms or areas near south or west-facing windows. This agave beautifully adapts to indoor environments, particularly in arid climates like Prescott, where its natural resilience shines. You'll appreciate its remarkably low water requirements; simply allow the soil to dry completely between waterings, ensuring a fuss-free care routine.
For pet owners, rest assured that the Agave victoriae-reginae is considered non-toxic to both cats and dogs. However, due to its naturally sharp leaf tips, it’s a good practice to place it in an area where curious pets are unlikely to come into direct contact.
When your Queen Victoria Agave outgrows its current pot, we strongly recommend repotting it with Watters Potting Soil. This specialized blend ensures the superior drainage and aeration that succulents need to thrive, promoting a healthy and robust root system. To support vigorous growth and maintain its stunning appearance, feed your agave monthly during its active growing season (spring and summer). We suggest using either Urban Gardener's Super Growth Elixir or Fertilome's All Purpose Houseplant Food, making sure to follow the dilution instructions on the product label.
