Schubertii Allium is an extraordinary and unusual heirloom bulb that has been growing in gardens since the late 1800's. Spherical umbels are formed from dozens of petite star-shaped lilac-hued flowers that burst outward and appear as if they exploded open. After blooming, seed heads remain and offer ornamental appeal for the garden, floral arrangements, and crafting projects. Also known as a tumbleweed onion, its dried heads fall off and get swept away by the wind, spreading its seeds by tumbling around.
