🌱 Growing instructions
- Sowing: The easiest method is to sow seeds outdoors in the fall under a layer of leaf litter to mimic their natural cycle.
- Stratification: For spring planting, a complex "double dormancy" stratification is required (60-90 days cold, followed by 60-90 days warm, then another 60-90 days cold).
- Depth: Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep.
- Light Requirement: Partial to Full Shade. Prefers dappled light like a forest floor.
- Soil: Requires rich, moist, well-draining soil with plenty of organic matter.
- Spacing: Space plants 4-6 inches apart.
⚠️ Please note
Growing ramps from seed is a long-term project for patient gardeners. Due to their "double dormancy," leaves will not appear above ground until the second spring after planting.
