A rare jewel for your urban jungle
Philodendron White Knight | Fast EU shipping | Grown with love in the EU | Not pet-safe
Summary: With its dramatic white variegation and glossy heart-shaped leaves, the Philodendron White Knight adds instant luxury to German apartments and European homes alike. A slow-growing but show-stopping collector’s plant.
✨ Why You'll Love the Philodendron White Knight
- Striking contrast: deep green leaves splashed with creamy white variegation
- Compact yet elegant—perfect for shelves, plant stands, or bright corners
- Low-maintenance tropical beauty for beginners and collectors
- Height: approx. 30 cm | Pot size: 12 cm
🌞 Light & Placement
This Philodendron thrives in bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun can scorch its white areas, while low light may reduce variegation. Ideal for east- or north-facing windows in European homes.
💧 Water & Humidity
Keep the soil lightly moist but never soggy. Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feel dry. Loves a touch of extra humidity—group with other plants or use a pebble tray for that lush, tropical feel in your living room.
🪴 Soil & Potting
Use a well-draining aroid mix with perlite, orchid bark, and peat. Repot every 1–2 years when roots start circling the pot. Choose a decorative planter that complements its striking foliage.
🐾 Toxicity & Safety
Not pet-safe. Keep away from curious cats, dogs, and small children as Philodendrons contain calcium oxalate crystals.
🌱 Growth & Propagation
A slow to medium grower with potential to climb when given a moss pole. Propagation is possible through stem cuttings with at least one node—best done in spring or summer for quick rooting.
📆 Seasonal & Special Care
In winter, growth slows. Reduce watering and keep the plant away from cold drafts or heating units common in German apartments. Wipe leaves regularly to maintain their glossy shine.
🐛 Common Issues
- Yellow leaves = overwatering
- Brown leaf edges = too little humidity
- Pale leaves = insufficient light
🧬 Botanical Background
The Philodendron White Knight is a rare variegated cultivar of the Araceae family, beloved by collectors worldwide. Native to tropical South America, it has become a must-have plant for European indoor jungles thanks to its dramatic foliage and resilient nature.
