Canna 'Wyoming' is a stunning tropical canna lily that adds bold color and texture to gardens and patios. Growing 36 to 48 inches tall, it's an award-winning favorite, known for its large, ruffled burnt orange blooms that contrast beautifully with its paddle-shaped reddish-bronze leaves. This prolific bloomer delivers vibrant, summer-long color, making it a standout choice for sunny spaces.
A tender perennial in Zones 8-11, Canna 'Wyoming' thrives in warm climates and grows quickly with an upright habit. Whether planted as a single statement piece or grouped in beds, borders, or large containers, its dramatic display is sure to impress. For maximum impact, try mass plantings for a lush, tropical look.
Easy to care for and low maintenance, this canna lily grows best in sunny to partially shaded areas with nutrient-rich, well-draining soil. Keep the soil consistently moist but avoid waterlogging to prevent bulb rot. Remove faded flowers by cutting the entire stem to encourage new blooms, and let the foliage die back naturally before trimming. Deer-resistant and resilient, Canna 'Wyoming' is an excellent addition to any garden.
Plant rhizomes in spring once the soil is warm, setting them 2 to 4 inches deep and spacing them 12 to 18 inches apart with shoots (2-3 eyes) facing up. In Zones 8-11, mulch over winter to protect the bulbs. In colder climates, plant rhizomes in early summer and lift them in fall for storage in a cool, frost-free location until the next growing season.
