These bamboo sticks are often used to support trees, plants and flowers. These sticks are also great for creative purposes in schools, clubs, businesses or in the home. The Tonkin bamboo sticks are slightly bendable when of sufficient length and are therefore not suitable for large constructions.
We also have these sticks in our showroom and inspiration garden. Here you can view this Bamboo Stick Tonkin and possibly pick and take it directly from our warehouse. Because we buy our materials directly from the source, with us you are assured of the best price and the most beautiful sticks.
WORKING WITH BAMBOO
Bamboo canes can be connected in many different ways. Most techniques use rope and/or threaded ends. But more advanced methods, such as the fish mouth connection or peg-and-hole connection, are also possible.
Of course you can also bamboo stick screwed. Here we recommend to always pre-drill to minimize the risk of cracks.
Bamboo is best cut with a Japanese saw. This special bamboo saw has small sharp teeth that you can easily, quickly and precisely cut.
If you want to place bamboo canes in the ground, we recommend to apply Bamboo Ground Protector to the part that is placed in the ground. This special black coating preserves the bamboo and protects it from rot.
PROPERTIES
Each bamboo pole is unique. Color differences and variations in the width of the bamboo canes are normal with this natural product. Vertical cracking is also a natural characteristic of the material. Especially in the hot and dry months of the year, vertical cracks can appear in bamboo. In humid and cold weather, the cracks are smaller than in dry and hot weather. The cracking of bamboo does not directly affect its lifespan.
A natural characteristic of bamboo poles is that the canes are thicker at the base than at the top. The gradient of the bamboo canes depends on the bamboo species and the length of the cane. Our indicated dimensions are always measured at the thickest end of the bamboo stick. Are you looking for a specific size? Feel free to visit us to pick out the bamboo sticks yourself.
Bamboo is a natural product, therefore bamboo poles are never 100% straight and there may be color differences between them.
