Get ready to experience the magical blooms of the Christmas holiday season with our extraordinary Holiday Cactus, also known as Schlumbergera! With vibrant blooms during Christmas holiday, the cactus is a beautiful and popular houseplant known for its stunning and vibrant blooms during the Christmas season.
Unlike most cacti, it lacks spines and thorns. Instead, it has flat, segmented stems about 12 inches tall that resemble leaves. These stems are usually green, but they can also have a Whitish or purplish hue, adding to their visual appeal.
Our current selection of Holiday Cactus includes Christmas Cactus, Thanksgiving Cactus, and Easter Cactus, featuring varieties that bloom just in time for the next festive season.
Whether it's Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Easter, these cacti will provide beautiful, timely blooms to enhance your celebrations.
With their white flowers, they create a magical atmosphere, making them the perfect centerpiece for any holiday gathering.
Not only are they visually stunning, but their delightful fragrance will fill your home, adding to the festive charm and captivating your family and friends. Their unique shapes and seasonal blooms make them a true highlight for any occasion.
A fascinating fact
Nurseries have mastered the art of controlling the bloom cycle. By carefully manipulating the amount of darkness these cacti receive, they can ensure that these magnificent holiday plants bloom exactly when you want them to. That means your Christmas Cactus might actually be a Thanksgiving hybrid, perfectly timed to dazzle you with its exquisite flowers just in time for the holiday season.
When ordering a holiday cactus, you're getting a special plant that is designed to bloom around the holiday closest to your purchase. Though all holiday cacti, including Thanksgiving Cactus, Christmas Cactus, and Easter Cactus, are similar, they can be manipulated to bloom at different times, such as Christmas or Easter. This makes them an ideal seasonal gift, bringing vibrant colors and beauty to your home during the holidays. So, whether it’s Christmas, Thanksgiving, or Easter, your cactus will add a festive touch to your celebrations.
When it comes to Holiday cactus care, they prefer bright, indirect light and well-drained cactus soil. It's important to water them thoroughly but allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings.
During the blooming period, typically around Christmas, it’s best to avoid moving the plant too much, as this can disrupt the delicate flower buds. Although Christmas is the most popular time for blooms, these holiday cacti are not limited to that season.
Planet Desert holiday cacti are carefully selected to bloom around the nearest holiday, whether it’s Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Easter, by manipulating light exposure and care conditions. With proper attention, your plant will bloom vibrantly at just the right time.
If growing indoors, the Schlumbergera Holiday cactus prefers warm temperatures between 65°F and 75°F. It's important to keep them away from drafts and extreme temperature fluctuations, as they can be sensitive to those.
When you are growing your Holiday cacti outdoors, they are best suited for USDA zones 10-12. These zones have milder climates with minimal risk of frost, which is important for the well-being of holiday cacti.
Additionally, this holiday cactus, Schlumbergera, is generally considered non-toxic to humans and pets. This means that if you have curious pets or young children around, you can feel at ease knowing that holiday cacti are safe to have in your home.
Whether you're a seasoned plant enthusiast or just starting your green thumb journey, holiday cacti make a wonderful addition to any collection. If you're looking for a low-maintenance plant, consider this Holiday cactus for sale!
