Peace Lilies stand out for their lovely white flowers, and are known for their air-purifying qualities. This variety stands out even more for its stunning variegated foliage, as its broad leaves are striped deep green and white. It will love a bright spot out of direct sun and time for the soil to dry between waters, which will help to produce gorgeous lily-like blooms. While the NASA study which stated that Peace Lilies purify air has been brought into question (you'd need a whole jungle in every room to make a real difference!), this beautiful plant can still improve your wellbeing simply by adding colour and greenery to your surroundings.

Scientific Name
Spathiphyllum wallisii (Wallis' sword-leafed plant) 'Diamond'

Common Name
Variegated Peace Lily, White Sails

Origin
Originates in tropical South American rainforests, especially in Colombia and Venezuela

Light
Peace Lilies can thrive in a variety of indirect light conditions, including in shadier spots. Since this variety is variegated, it won't like it too shady as this would make it lose variegation- if new growth is coming through more green and less variegated, then it needs a little more light to keep its standout patterning. A spot away from the window in a bright room, or close to a north-facing window would be about right.

Water
Make sure at least the top third dries out between waters. if it gets too thirsty, the lily will droop dramatically; this is much easier for it to recover from than being overwatered though, so don't panic, just give it a water! Use tepid water when the plant is blooming as cold water can shock the plant and damage the flowers.

Humidity
Peace Lilies like high humidity and will benefit from regular misting or the introduction of a humidity tray. If its leaves start to go brown, curled and crisp at the edges this is probably a sign that the air is too dry.

Soil
Use a well-draining, moisture retentive soil (something suitable for Calatheas will also work here!). Repot every couple of years in spring as the plant grows. We wouldn't recommend potting directly into a terracotta pot as these can keep the roots a little too cold!

Food
Feed every four waters in spring and summer; reduce to every six in autumn and winter.

Temperature
Temperature should ideally be between 12-25°C- make sure it doesn't drop below 10°C in winter.

Pet-safe
No, this plant is toxic to pets and small humans.

Sprouts Top Tips
Peace Lilies are likely to react badly to soggy soil, so keep an eye out for overwatering symptoms like foliage going brown or lower leaves going yellow, brown spots on leaves, stunted growth, or wilting. If you spot any of these and your soil is wet to the touch, you probably need to water less frequently! Make sure the soil has plenty of time to dry out before you next water it, and check the roots to make sure they are tinged with yellow and not going brown or mushy. Keep an eye on this, especially in cooler or shadier spots.

These are adorable
Color: Coffe Wood, Color: Coffe Wood
This little frozen treat kit is absolutely adorable. I found 3 different colors for my 3 dogs, so I can tell who got theirs stolen. First, the kit itself is a 5 star. The little skull, the brain mold, absolutely adorable. Second, as with a lot of other reviews, what is up with the rope? I had hoped there was a cover for that part of the skull heads when I bought them, then I double checked the reviews and could have had a V8. 🤦🏼‍♀️ the good news is that once you get the rope off you can replace it with something more washable, if you choose. Rope is a 2 to 3 star. Third, my dogs don't like these ones as much, that's why the 3 stars. They've tried out 3 different kinds, with a 4th one coming this week. This was their 3rd favorite. They like the ability to carry it by the rope. Getting to the treat through the hole in the bottom isn't "hard", but the skull is tilted on the side, which is exactly what you want to keep your dog entertained, but two of my dogs didn't want to deal with it unless I held it for them. 😒 Dramatic. Fourth, and finally, I am keeping them. I will probably not put frozen treats in them again, and use it for dry treats or something. So, 3 to 4 stars since I probably won't be able to use the mold for these unless the dogs get used to them. These little skills have more of a rubber texture to them, making them not really hard plastic, and seemingly more durable. The top, so far, is easy to take off, if you don't have wet hands. There's little divets in the top to help you screw and unscrew thw top. Be careful not to screw it on too tight or too loose. I would take it away from my dogs as soon as I notice they are done with their treats, as I would with dirty dishes. It isn't a toy-toy, more like a treat dispenser.

Ruff and rugged
Color: Real Bacon&Beef
Ruff and rugged, my dogs chew through everything we get them, not this so far, holding up well against the aggressive chewers.

Has some flaws but overall not bad
Color: Coffe Wood
I have a 13 pound Jack Russell mix who is an aggressive chewer and gets bored while I am working. I find that a frozen treat situation keeps him busy for 30-45 minutes in his kennel so I can get some quiet time. I've been stuffing the Kong and freezing it, but since I only have one, I have to remember to do it. I liked the option of keeping a bunch of frozen treats to refill the toy at will. I've been eyeballing the Pupsicle brand, but they are really expensive. So for around $10, I figured this was worth a try. Pros: So far seems tough. I unscrew it after he finishes the frozen treat so he can lick out the remains, then I take it away from him. I'm sure if I let him he would eventually chew it to shreds. The design is cute. Although you can't see the fact that the treats are brain shaped once it is in there, it does give me a kick to put a little brain in the skull. So far no issues with screwing the top of the skull on or taking it off The inner cavity is quite big. I filled the molds about 3/4 full and there is still a lot of room in the skull. If you have a bigger dog you can fill the molds to the top (just don't over-fill or it won't fit inside) If you make a big batch of treat filling, you can freeze the rest in those silicone muffin molds, they fit perfectly. Just don't over-fill. With a 3/4 full mold, made with pumpkin, peanut butter, oats, and a little water, it takes my dog about 45 minutes to get all of the treat out. Cons: It's huge and heavy. It's bigger than my dog's skull. But, since he is just trying to eat the brains, it's not like it needs to be lightweight. The rope is a bad idea. First, it gets gross. Second, my dog has chewed halfway through it already. This seems like a hazard for both choking and bacterial contamination. The biggest hole is big enough that my dog's bottom jaw gets a little stuck in there. So far he's always able to get it out, but it is a point against the toy. Overall, its not bad. Not perfect, but serves the function. I'd like to see a slightly smaller, slightly lighter version for dogs under 20 pounds, and lose the rope. If you do buy this, make sure to take it away from your dog once they have cleaned out the treat.

Great for aggressive chewers!
This item has held up for 4 months so far! My dog loves it, carries it everywhere. It's one of his favorite toys and he's been through so so many but this is the only one to hold up. However there are CONS! We have dubbed this bone "the cheese grater". My dog loves to bring his toys to us and press them against our legs to get our attention. So after a little chewing, the ends become very rough. When he runs by us with it in his mouth or presses it up against our legs, it tears our skin up! Also, the bone is very heavy so we have to watch out for our toes because Hank will drop it right on our feet if we aren't paying attention. Other than that, it's great! When it gets dirty, I just throw it in the dish washer and rinse it off after the cycle is done. Cleans up nicely! Would buy again if needed! Recommend for aggressive chewers!
