Prime-Ark® Freedom Blackberry Plug Plants are the first thornless, everbearing blackberry variety bred for both high productivity and ease of care. This innovative cultivar produces fruit on both first-year (primocanes) and second-year (floricanes), delivering two abundant crops per year — one in early summer and another in late summer through fall.
The berries are large, sweet, and firm with outstanding flavor and shelf life, making them ideal for fresh eating, baking, freezing, and market sales. Its thornless canes simplify pruning and harvesting, while the plant’s hardiness and adaptability make it a top performer across USDA Zones 5–8.
Why Grow Prime-Ark® Freedom Blackberry Plug Plants?
- Dual Harvests: Enjoy crops in early summer (July) and again in late summer–fall (August–October).
- Thornless Canes: Smooth, spine-free growth for easy picking and pruning.
- Large, Sweet, Firm Berries: Perfect for fresh use, preserves, desserts, and freezing.
- Hardy & Productive: Vigorous, cold-hardy plants thriving in USDA Zones 5–8.
- Excellent Shelf Life: Firm fruit stores and transports well for home or market use.
- Plug Plants: Shipped dormant as 1-year-old bare root plugs with established roots for faster growth and fruiting.
