This watercolor highlights the playful, recognizable shape of the prickly pear cactus, often called “Mickey Mouse ears,” set against a textured desert ground. The pads shift through soft pinks, purples, and muted greens, capturing how these plants subtly change color in the Arizona sun. There’s a natural rhythm to the clustered forms, contrasted by the scattered stones and surrounding desert plants in the background. It reflects a moment of noticing something familiar in a new way, where color and shape turn an everyday desert scene into something quietly striking, fitting easily into spaces that appreciate botanical art, Southwestern landscapes, or nature-inspired watercolor.
Available in 11" x 14" or 18" x 24" prints
