N’Joy Pothos is a beautiful variety of Epipremnum aureum known for its stunning variegated green and white leaves. It’s a low-maintenance houseplant that thrives in various indoor environments, making it an excellent choice for beginners.
Light Requirements
Best Light: Bright, indirect light enhances the variegation in the leaves. More light leads to more pronounced white and green patterns.
Tolerates: Low light, but growth may slow down, and variegation may fade.
Avoid: Direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.
Ideal Placement: Near a north- or east-facing window or under artificial grow lights.
Watering
Frequency: Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feels dry. Water deeply, allowing excess water to drain out.
Seasonal Adjustments: Water more frequently in warmer months (spring/summer) and reduce in colder months (fall/winter).
Overwatering Signs: Yellowing leaves, root rot.
Underwatering Signs: Curling leaves, dry and crispy edges.
Humidity
Ideal Level: 50-70% humidity. Higher humidity enhances leaf growth and variegation.
Improving Humidity: Mist the plant occasionally, use a humidifier, or place it near other plants.
Adaptability: It can tolerate average household humidity.
Temperature
Optimal Range: 18°C to 30°C (65°F to 85°F).
Avoid: Cold drafts, air conditioners, and temperatures below 10°C (50°F), which can stress the plant.
Soil & Potting
Best Soil Mix: Well-draining potting mix, such as a combination of peat moss, perlite, and coco coir.
Pot Selection: A pot with drainage holes to prevent root rot.
Repotting: Every 1-2 years or when the plant outgrows its current pot.
Fertilizing
Fertilizer Type: A balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer (e.g.,19:19:19).
Frequency: Once a month during the growing season (spring/summer). Reduce feeding in fall/winter.
Overfertilizing Signs: Leaf browning or crispy tips.
